Revolutionizing the gaming landscape, Saga has officially launched its highly-anticipated airdrop claim process on Wednesday following an intense three-month period of play-to-airdrop competitions. Victorious participants from these thrilling events can now seize the opportunity to claim SAGA tokens, alongside crypto enthusiasts who have invested in tokens across various blockchain networks.

With over 200,000 distinct wallets deemed eligible across multiple chains including Avalanche, Solana, Cosmos, Celestia, and Ethereum's Polygon scaler, the claims page is now live, and tokens are up for grabs until March 27. A staggering total of 60 million SAGA tokens await distribution in this remarkable airdrop.

It's worth noting that certain regional eligibility restrictions apply to the airdrop claims. Notably, citizens and residents of the United States are excluded from token claim eligibility.

Saga’s play-to-airdrop competitions encompassed a diverse range of games developed on the network's testnet, as well as prominent titles on other chains—such as the captivating card-battler Parallel and adrenaline-pumping first-person shooter Shrapnel.

In addition to these exciting developments, Saga is extending airdrop allocations to individuals who staked the respective native cryptocurrencies of Avalanche, Polygon, Celestia, and Cosmos during specified periods in 2023. For those interested, Saga has issued an eligibility guide detailing which users on these chains are eligible to claim SAGA tokens based on their staking activities.

Earlier announcements from Saga unveiled strategic partnerships with leading teams behind Avalanche and Polygon, underlining the network's pivotal role as complementary infrastructure for games and applications across various chains.

Designed as a catalyst for innovation, the Saga network operates on the principle of “chain to launch chains,” as emphasized by Saga CEO and co-founder Rebecca Liao in previous discussions with Decrypt’s GG. Utilizing a model of “chainlets” that seamlessly work in tandem, Saga's versatility extends beyond gaming, although Liao revealed in December that a significant 80% of early developers on the testnet were dedicated to game development.
