Announced on Thursday, 9 Lives Interactive, a game studio based in Singapore, has successfully secured a substantial $3 million funding round. This backing is aimed at bolstering the global launch of Nyan Heroes, an innovative "hero shooter" game that integrates assets on the Solana blockchain. Soon, eager players will have the opportunity to dive into the action.
Leading the investment round is Mechanism Capital, with notable contributions from Sfermion, Momentum 6, 3Commas Capital, Devmons GG, Kosmos Ventures, and CSP DAO. This recent funding adds to the $7.5 million raised by 9 Lives Interactive back in 2022.
Exciting news for gaming enthusiasts, as Nyan Heroes is set to enter a limited early access testing phase from March 26 to April 9, exclusively available via the Epic Games Store. This period offers players a first-hand experience of the team-based shooter gameplay.
Building upon an earlier announcement, 9 Lives Interactive is launching a play-to-airdrop initiative alongside the early access release, enabling players to earn rewards through the upcoming NYAN token drop. It's worth noting that the token was previously known as “NYN.”
The team initiated the first phase of the airdrop campaign earlier this week, allowing interested individuals to sign up and commence earning “MEOW” points by completing missions on the game's website. Nyan Heroes disclosed that over 200,000 participants have already enrolled in the campaign, representing more than 120,000 unique Solana wallets.
