MapleStory, the popular MMORPG, is set to launch MapleStory N on the Avalanche blockchain, offering new content-generating opportunities and integrating NFTs for in-game experiences.

MapleStory, a popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Nexon, will soon integrate with the Avalanche blockchain, bringing new experiences to its 400,000 daily active users. This integration, dubbed “MapleStory N,” will utilize an Avalanche subnet to streamline development and offer users more support options.

Players can look forward to creating their own content within MapleStory N, enhancing the game's universe with their unique worlds and gameplay elements. Angela Son, MapleStory Universe’s partnership lead, expressed excitement about the partnership with Ava Labs, highlighting the opportunity to build a robust blockchain ecosystem.

The game, which boasts over 180 million registered players, has long been a favorite in the Asia-Pacific region. Its Web3 initiative, MapleStory Universe, utilizes nonfungible tokens (NFTs) to enrich in-game experiences.

Previously, Nexon, MapleStory's parent company, chose Polygon as its blockchain partner, allowing players to earn and collect in-game items as NFTs. The adoption of Avalanche reflects a broader trend of traditional financial institutions, including JPMorgan and Citi, leveraging blockchain technology for various initiatives.

Avalanche has been gaining traction, with over 100 million Avalanche inscriptions minted in 2023, indicating growing user interest in the platform's capabilities.
