Charles Hoskinson addresses glitch in Nami wallet implementation of ADAHandles causing delays in fetching handles like $NFT. Nami assures users of a fix.

Cardano’s co-creator, Charles Hoskinson, has spoken out regarding the ongoing investigations concerning issues affecting the network’s latest wallet, Nami.

In a recent communication via X (formerly Twitter), Hoskinson disclosed that his team is actively probing a glitch in Nami’s implementation of ADAHandles.

Insight from Charles Hoskinson on Cardano Wallet Glitch

Preliminary examinations suggest a delay in fetching ADAHandles, resulting in a lag when users input handles such as “$NFT” and “$NFTs.” To address potential further complications, the team has opted to disable ADAHandles within Nami until a resolution is implemented. Hoskinson reassured the community that the issue exclusively impacts Nami users, with Lace users remaining unaffected.

Nami was acquired by Cardano to reinforce its network-native Lace wallet and to facilitate broader network adoption. However, Hoskinson conceded that the migration process requires time, and bugs similar to this one may emerge in Nami.

Further assurances were provided by the Nami Wallet team, emphasizing that ADAHandles have been temporarily disabled while affirming that a permanent solution is being actively pursued. Meanwhile, ADAHandles expressed sympathy for affected users and underscored that the issue had been previously reported to Nami’s former creator without resolution.

In contrast to Nami, wallets like Lace adhere to Verified Integration protocols to forestall such issues.

ADA Network Activity: Positive Price Trends

The emergence of the Nami wallet glitch coincides with increased network activity for Cardano. Ali Martinez, BeInCrypto’s global head of news, highlighted a significant uptick in daily active addresses, transaction volume, and whale transactions on the blockchain network over the past month.
